About FlygonFlygon whips up a sandstorm by flapping its wings. The wings create a series of notes that sound like singing. Because the "singing" is the only thing that can be heard in a sandstorm, this Pokémon is said to be the desert spirit. Red covers shield its eyes from sand.

Flygon in Competitive BattlingFlygon has a few things going for it. It's dragon/ground typing gives it a powerful stab earthquake and stab dragon moves which are both very useful. Thanks to levitate it doesn't really need to worry about entry hazards and it has a nice move pool. So why isn't this Pokemon a top OU threat? Unfortunately it's stats are low. Attack and speed are good but everything else is plain average which means one powerful move could KO it. Aside from hone claws it doesn't really have a way to boost it's stats either. It's typing also leaves it with a nasty 4x ice weakness. However despite this if used correctly flygon can be a major threat especially in UU.
Example movesetFlygon - Choice Scarf
Admant (+atk/-sp.atk) or Jolly (+spe/-sp.atk)
Evs: 252 attack/252 speed/ 4 sp.def
Earthquake
Outrage
Fire Punch
U-turn
Flygon makes a great choice scarf user. U-turn allows you to scout for threats. Outrage and earthquake are powerful stabs. Fire punch hit almost everything that eathquake/outrage doesn't (which is basically flying/air ballon/levitating steels). The biggest choice is the nature. Adamant gives you a big power boost and provide some much needed OHKO's but jolly allows you to outspeed some threats such as other choice scarf pokemon.
