Greninja Gaiden

So, how long has it been since you've seen anyone run a Greninja with a different set?

As the frog remains my favorite poke out of this generation's starters, I thought I'd offer a bit of diversity to REALLY aggravate people.

So, Flingninja as follows:

Protean Greninja (is there any other kind)
Hasty, max Attack and Speed EVs
Fire Orb/Toxic Orb/Heavy Weight/etc
Fling
Acrobatics
U-turn
Ice Beam/Water Shuriken for Talonflames

The drawbacks of this guy are that you CANNOT switch onto him, or you will suffer the effects of the negative item in question. However, he provides amazing coverage for a lead poke or revenge killer, providing enough damage through Acrobatics to 1-2HKO just about anything that doesn't resist it... Like Mega Lucario, which cries.


Anyone else have some unique Greninja sets?

I run a very similer set to this myself lol.

Grininja - poison barb
Jolly Nature
252 Attack/252Speed
Fling
Acrobatics
Night Slash
Waterfall

This set poisons the foe with a base 80 stab boosted fling with the poison barb. This then lets me Acrobatics the foe or waterfall them for good damage.

Why no U-turn? I think it's a direct replacement for Night Slash, as it still hits psychics while also offering grass coverage.

Agreed! U-Turn is the biggest reason why I go physical!
