Pokemon X & Y News
As some of you may know, the new Pokemon game, Pokemon X/Y, is in the region of Kalos, which is based off of France. The central city of Kalos is Lumiose, based off of Paris, complete with another copy, the Eiffel Tower, although it has no name yet. The Pokedex and the region is going to be split into 3 groups: Central Kalos, Coast Kalos and Mountain Kalos. There's only one thing. Why do you think it's shaped like a star?
Pokemon X & Pokemon Y will be available for the 3DS on October 12th, 2013!

Hmm didnt know about the split pokedex. Must be a big dex if they have to spilt it up into 3 sections.
Don't know why it would be a star. Unova was kind of a diamond so maybe they are just picking random shapes now?

Okay, I found these two pictures that map out the groups of the region:
If you can see the star shapes to the left of the words, they have an area of the star highlighted. So the map will be something like this:

I've taken a look, and I found out that your starter Pokemon starts with the first two moves (Tackle/Pound/Scratch and Growl/Leer/Tail Whip) but this time they also have a special move of their type:

Well that should make things slightly easier in the beginning.

Yea. It's always boring when the only thing you can use is Tackle. By the way, why's this thread upside down?

I have no clue. It seems to be the whole news section for some reason. I'm looking into it.

The fairy type has now been confirmed for x and y...
It includes Maril, gardevior, sylveon, and jigglypuff, plus a new pokemon named Vivilion. Fairy will be super effective against dragon.

I think that the fairy type is kinda stupid, especially that it's super-effective against dragon. It's also going to be a big change because the older Pokemon are going to be fairy type. Oh well.

New pokemon:
Talonflame An evolved form of the recently announced Fletchling, Talonflame is a Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon that gains a whole new level of speed and firepower. It dives at foes, and then attacks with devastating kicks.
Fire/Flying - AWESOME!
Clauncher Clauncher is easily recognizable by the oversized claw on one of its arms. This useful claw can seize prey and shoot water at others as a projectile!
Water
Skrelp Disguised by its shape, Skrelp pretends to be a piece of seaweed. When prey gets too close, Skrelp bathes it in poison to keep it from struggling.

Also new to the pokemon world will be Sky battles for flying pokemon
and horde encounters
Pokemon-Amie will be introduced giving us a new way to bond with our pokemon and possibly adding something to battles depending on the happiness or unhappiness.

I was going to post nearly all of those, but I don't think I knew about the horde battles. I must have missed that.

Pokemon are meant to be creatures, not swords.
I'm gonna update the poll.

Yeah, pokemon are supposed to be creatures! Though, a ghost/ steel sounds like a fascinating dual type. It'll only be weak against fire and ground attacks, right? I'm with the other guys, but what I really want is a Pancham!
Oh, and I think the new English name will be 'Honedge' according to the pokemon database.

Lol the problem Pokemon is soon gonna run into is that there are only so many animals they can turn into pokemon. In my opinion though it's acceptable to say that a ghost inhabits a sword
