| so i remember my 1st experience of pokemon being the tv series, and i was hooked from the get go, like seriously, getting to keep lil monster in balls and using them to battle who wouldnt be hooked. but then i came to a friend an we started the TCG collection and then i saw and learnt about the simulators, and then it was still just Pokemon red, blue and yellow,
i trhen went on to get my self a gameboy colour and was like wow this looks soo good. i then fell out of pokemon a little while after the original gold and silver releases. but then got myself a DS and bought Heart gold, platinum and lent a friends Ruby and played all 3 at the same time hahaha i then got White and i was for some or other reason looking for somethng radom about pokemon and this forum came up, so i was looking through it and i had never know anything like this existed, so natuarlly i joined
I made my welcome post and introdution think i was surely the ONLY South African on the site just to be greeted by DIALGA saying YAAAS finially another South Africann (That was the moment where Pokemon brought two people who if not for it would never have met or spoken, )
I then learnt about the gym system and i was like i got to try this out. it was also here that i learnt abour IV'S & EV's and then hated that i knew it cause now i realized just how weak my pokemon were so i re-breed and trained all of them again. next was the decision to try out for a gym post, and i went for it as soon as i could, and after failing once i got lucky and managd to become the Ice Gym Leader back in Black and White 2
Then came the release of X & Y and thing were getting heat and at this time i had worked my way to being a member of the Elite Four, happy with my achievement I decided to try doing VGC tournament s and this lead to the High light of me finishing 2nd at my Regional tournament and firming my belief that I true am a Pokémon trainer and that I can be and that I am an Ambassador for Pokémon lovers all over and that I should, must and will give my knowledge and experience to any who wish to learn from it
SO I would now like to take this moment, right here to say Thank you to this forum for being a place where a "schoolboy" trainer could learn to become a "Elite" trainer and for being the catalyst that inspired a life long friendship between my buddy Dialga and myself, and to thank Pokémon for a life time of memories and to wish them a fantastic 20th Anniversary Now Release Pokémon GO.

| For me it will have to be the nostalgia as a Kid when the first Pokemon series ever featured and getting a Gameboy Color with a copy of Pokemon Fire to later getting Pokemon Yellow. To later following up all Poke cards and game linking with school friends n neighbors. Until now 20 years have passed Ash is still 10 years old n havent gotten a girlfriend leading me to grow up still loving pokemon yet i grown old n now with a new born child to share the same pokemon moments to come. Happy Anniversary! PS. If it wasnt for pokemon I wouldnt bother with Forums which later leads to all of us to know each other world wide. Cheers | |

| I have so many Pokémon memories. its hard to believe that Pokémon has been part of our world for 20 years! I remember getting my first copy of both Red and Blue in 1996 with my little purple Gameboy. But there are two memories that really stick out for me. The first was when Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire were announced. I ACTUALLY got a job just so I could have that game before Xmas. I woked as a gardnerer for a lovely old couple and when I had gotten the money to get the game, didn't put my clear Gameboy Advanced down for more than a few hours until I completed that Pokedex. The second, would be maybe.... 3-4 years ago, a young unexpirenced trainer looking for Victini posted on Yahoo asking if anyone could get me one as I had missed the chance to get pokemon Black early enough to get the pokemon myself. He got a reply from Madori.... Ann, who sadly dissappered.... But that trainer, made some good friends over his time and lesrnt alot.... So I have to thanik Jito for making me into the trainer I am today thanks for all your support pver the years man. And to all you trainers here, its been a good ride! Can't wait to see how far pokemon take us with Pokémon GO! | |

| Pokemon has been a part of my life since the beginning. I'll never forget my blue version (German version) I got when I was in Austria when the games first released. Man was I excited. I didn't care that it was in German, I was one of the first in my country to have it. It hadn't even released in South Africa yet, and the Pokemon atmosphere in Europe was amazing. Merchandise everywhere, posters in every toy shop. By the time I left Austria I had a pokemon towel, the guide to red and blue, my little toy charmander in his ball, watched 12 episodes in German on the daily TV shows, a case for my transparent Gameboy (Original Gameboy which I still have, a set of TCG cards and a love for Pokemon for a lifetime. I knew after that trip, Pokemon was there to stay in my heart and that hasn't changed to this day. Thanks to GC and Aurath and Jito for the friendship and online fun that I've had since looking into forums. You guys were there from the start and you have made it a magical experience. I'm gonna post that again in a few years time And to my best friend Scyther (Julz), if not for this forum and Pokemon, I would never have met you, I'm truly thankful for that. Glad I will be able to visit you in March. Thanks to everyone on this forum for making my Pokemon life so great. | |
